About COMPANY

Yarns and Storys is a Oregon based company that specializes in handmade wool pieces, dyed and spun by owner Robyn. Finished products are available, as well as skeins and fibers for spinning, knitting and crocheting.

About PRODUCT

Robyn sent me a handspun, handknit baby hat, which was quite timely as I just had a baby and we were moving from the warm, desert climate of south Texas to the cold mountainous region of South Dakota. I was thrilled to have a unique hat for my child, as well as something that would help him stay warm!

The hat is soft and thick, made with a beautiful wool that is orange and brown colors, perfect for fall and winter. I was able to roll the open end up to fit it to my newborn's head, or leave it alone and it fits my three year old's head perfectly as well.

The day we arrived in South Dakota was chilly and extremely windy. We were concerned that our plane would not touch down due to the wind and we would be diverted elsewhere. Later that evening the temperature had dropped considerably and we were headed out for bible study. I put the hat on my son JohnDavid before we left and when we arrived at the building and got inside, I took it off of him. His head was warm and cozy and he seemed a bit upset once I removed the hat, so I put it back on him while he slept. It was a huge relief to have a well made, warm product available for my son.

Caring for the hat is easy as well. Care instructions: "hand wash with gentle soap, dish or baby soap is good. Blot extra water on a towel, dry flat."

The only drawback is that my child is going to outgrow this hat in a year or two and then we will need another one.
